The Y3K Ball, the year 3000, an event that celebrates BIPOC trans and queer self-expression, creativity, and community. Immerse yourself in a culture founded in the 1960s by black and latinx transwomen of Harlem, New York, who faced discrimination and transphobia in that era.

Determination and courage to continue to exist and live led to creating a space for themselves to live out their fantasies, that they could not fulfil in the real world.

Danisa Silky & Justin Reign
Justin Reign is the Godfather of the first WA ballroom house, the Trailblazing House of Reign established in 2021. Justin hosts kiki community sessions aimed at providing nurturing space to everyone, especially queer BIPOC individuals. Since hosting The Renaissance Ball (WA’s first ball in WA back in 2022), Justin and House of Reign have hosted events for 10 Nights in Port and Perth Festival.
Danisa Silky is an Indo-Indian movement artist, drag performer and member of the kiki house of Silky and international mainstream House of Gorgeous Gucci. Danisa has been a leader and event runner within the Boorloo Ballroom community for many years and an active member of the interstate Australian scenes.
An auspicious meeting of ballroom talent, The Y3K Ball is Danisa and Justin’s first collaboration.
